A Present-Day Line in the Sand

Questions to Ponder

Technology is a wonderful tool when it saves us time and improves our lives in other ways. The question to ponder is, “when has technology use gone too far?”  Here are other sub-questions on this topic I am struggling with:

·      Is it healthy business practice for a voice-bot to interact with customers who are calling the help desk?

·      What happens to our trust as memes and computer-generated voice can mimic any artist or leader?

·      How can spam calls, originating from far-away locations, using local area codes be legal? Isn’t this fraud?

·      Can Chat GPT and other AI assist platforms in education cause learning atrophy, dumbing down our students and workforce?

·      Is social media distancing human interaction? Is it harming our children?

·      Do voice-bot job interviews further demoralize those in need seeking employment?

The overriding question is this: Are we sacrificing character and authenticity on the altar of tech?

I would suggest that life consists of an ongoing battle between good and evil; technological advances follow the same dilemma.

What do you think?
